Issuance of passports to Filipino children born in Thailand
A child born in Thailand to a Filipino father or mother after 1973 or 1986 is a Filipino citizen and can be issued a Philippine passport. However, the child's birth must first be reported to the Embassy before it can be issued a Philippine passport. If the child is illegitimate, the biological mother must file the Report of Birth. Both Report of Birth and passport application can be done on the same day.
Requirements for Report of Birth:
- Personal appearance of at least one parent (the mother if the child is illegitimate);
- Report of Birth (4 sets);
- Original copy of the Birth Certificate of the child translated into English and duly authenticated by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
- One (1) color ID picture of the child;
- Original passports of the parents and four (4) photocopies of each passport;
- Original copy and four (4) photocopies of the marriage contract of the child’s parents:
- If the marriage was solemnized in the Philippines, the marriage contract must be duly authenticated by the National Statistics Office (Office of the Civil Registrar General) and by the Department of Foreign Affairs (Authentication Division)
- If the marriage was solemnized under Thai law, the marriage contract must be accompanied by an English translation duly authenticated by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
7. Payment of processing fee (THB 1,125.00).

Requirements for Application for Passport:
- Personal appearance of the child (regardless of age) and at least one parent (the mother if the child is illegitimate);
- One (1) passport ID picture of the child [1.77" (4.5cms) x 1/37" (3.5cms)];
- Passport application form;
- Copy of the Report of Birth of the child; and
- Payment of processing fee (THB 2,700.00).
