FTAT Pays Courtesy Call on Ambassador Lacanlale

19 August 2010 (Bangkok) - The Officers of the Filipino Teachers Association in Thailand (FTAT) under the leadership of its President, Mr. Rodolfo Eusebio Mercurio, Jr., paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Linglingay F. Lacanlale on Thursday, 19 August, to present the group's history, program and projects for the year.

Also accompanying Mr. Mercurio to the meeting were the Vice President, Ms. Monina, Secretary, Mr. Romney Sison, Mrs Purificacion Rivera and United Filipinos in Thailand (UFT) President, Ms Isabel Arias.

The  Ambassador laid out the short and long-term projects of the Embassy and explored avenues for cooperation and coordination on possible areas, in line with FTAT's mission and vision.

The meeting focused mainly on discussions regarding the improvement of the working conditions of Filipino teachers' in Thailand, through regular seminars and continuing education lecture series dealing with Thai laws on education and migration, through conducting sessions on improving education methods and strategies from veteran Filipino teachers in Thailand, and holding classes for Filipino teachers dealing with financial security, business and investment opportunities.
