Further to the Embassy’s public advisory dated 20 December 2011, the public are informed of the following:

Materials identified as priority needs in the affected areas of Typhoon Sendong (Washi):

c) Only donations not covered by diplomatic notes/bilateral agreements will have to pass through the One-Stop Shop for clearance.
The concept of the One-Stop Shop facility, established by Executive Order No. 831 in the aftermath of Typhoon Ondoy, has recently been reactivated to expedite relief, recovery and rehabilitation efforts for the victims of Typhoon Sendong. At present, there is a One-Stop Shop in Cagayan de Oro headed by the Bureau of Customs with the DSWD as the primary consignee. A One-Stop Shop desk will be installed at the NAIA this week.

Thailand Provides Assistance for Typhoon Sendong Victims
The Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Surapong Tovichakchaikul conveyed his Government’s condolences to the Philippine Government and people on the tragedy caused by tropical storm Sendong (international name: Washi) and turned over the Royal Kingdom of Thailand’s assistance to Embassy Charge d’ Affaires, a.i. Maria Teresa Taguiang in a courtesy call at the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs on 23 December 2011.
In conveying the Thai Government’s condolences, the Foreign Minister handed a cheque in the amount of THB3 million (approximately USD100,000) as financial assistance to the Philippine Government to assist its efforts in alleviating the dire consequences of the disaster.
During the call, Foreign Minister Tovichakchaikul expressed sincere sympathies for the loss of lives and widespread destruction caused by the storm.
He also expressed appreciation for the sympathies and assistance accorded by the Philippine Government during Thailand’s own flood crisis in recent months. END
