RP Embassy Hosts ASEAN TV Film Documentary
ASEAN TV aired its first telecast during the ASEAN Summit in 2009 on a broadcast signal accessible to all member countries, with the objective of fostering cooperation and promoting regional connectivity through news and features.
The complete footages of the filming at the Embassy will be shown for three consecutive weeks during the regular time slot of the TV program, “Meet the Diplomats: Culture and Lifestyle.”
The filming featured Thai host Khun Kusuma Yodhasmutr interviewing Ambassador Linglingay F. Lacanlale on the various aspects of Philippine way of life, including the economy, tourism, and education, among others. The documentary also presented the various services offered by the Consular Section, such as passport and visa issuances, notarial services and assistance extended to Filipino nationals in distress.
Video clips of actual demonstrations and exhibitions were shown through the cultural performances by former members of the famed Bayanihan Dance Troupe, lecture on Philippine cooking and sampling of Philippine cuisine, and the display of Philippine furniture and costumes, as modeled by the personnel of the Embassy. The event culminated in the actual wedding ceremony of a Filipinos couple complete with traditional attire and rituals.
The filming is as a follow-up to the initial taping in Songkhla on 07 August 2010 involving interviews with the Ambassador and cultural performances from the member teachers of the Organization of Filipino Expatriates in the South of Thailand (OFEST). END

Ambassador Lacanlale and Dr Agerico Lacanlale receive the token of appreciation from Songkhla Governor Winyu Thongsakun (leftmost) during the Ambassador's visit to the province in August 2010.
